Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for visiting our website. Our theme for 2013 is "Returning to our first love" and comes from the scriptures in Revelation 2:1-7. As John writes to the church of Ephesus mentioned in this chapter, it appears that everything they were doing is what should be done and they are commended for it; however, the one thing that Jesus addressed them on to repent of was that they had LEFT their first love. Our first love is JESUS! With every good thing that we attempt to do, we must NEVER lose sight of the fact that we must be dependent upon God and continue to remain in love with HIM while keeping HIM first in our life.
As we examine the wording in Revelation 2:4, we see that Jesus says they LEFT their first love rather than LOST their first love. The contrast between these two words is that if you lose something, you don't know where it is while if you leave something, you know where it is and you are just not in its presence. It is time that we all examine our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to point out areas of our life where we need to return back to Jesus. Our lives will be blessed when we return to our first love! If you want to hear this message that I shared with our congregation, please visit our media page and listen to the sermon "Returning to our first love" preached on January 6, 2013 or any of the other sermons.
Please take a look around at the various ministries that are provided and I believe that you will find many opportunities for you and your family. Jill and I look forward to personally meeting you at one of our Sunday morning or Wednesday evening services.
I pray that you will be blessed in 2013!
In Christ's Love,
Pastor Robbie Mathis
